Knowing God Personally

Heaven is a free gift that we do not deserve and cannot earn...

“...it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”
(Ephesians 2:8-9)

We are all sinners, incapable of saving ourselves from our sins...

“...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...”
(Romans 3:23)

“...there is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
(Romans 3:10-12)

God is merciful, but He must punish sin...

“...the wages of sin is death...”
(Romans 6:23)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, paid for our sins that we might have eternal life...

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
(Romans 5:6-8)

We must trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation from sin and its penalty...

“...if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
(Romans 10:9-10)
